Habitat for Humanity, founded in 1976, is a global, Christian-based nonprofit organization that grew out of an intentionally multi-racial community in rural Georgia.Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat brings together people of all faiths and people of no faith to build homes, communities and hope. WebMilwaukee Habitat for Humanity quickly followed in 1984, and over the next 20 years, more than 42 local affiliates were established in communities throughout the state. Most began as small affiliates, created and run by volunteers, building or rehabbing one home a year. Today our state has 37 affiliates and has added 27 ReStores.
